stuff@planbdesign.co.ukIf you are serious about your web site then you need to ask yourself a few questions, for instance, what will the purpose of the web site be? Will it act as an online brochure? If so, you will need information and maybe some pictures about the products or services that you provide. There could be a long list of information that you could include in your site and the best way to do this is to have a separate page for each piece.
If you write a rough plan of what you want to include in your web site it is a great help to both of us. We can both make sure that we are working towards the same goal. Making the job of quoting and building your site an easier task. If you are not sure what you might need we can always offer advice, I have included some information below that you may find helpful.
The number of pages will be different from business to business and will depend on the amount of information you want to include. An indication of some popular pages that the majority of web sites will have are :-
Home page
This page usually has a brief introduction about your company
About us page
Information about your company, a few lines about its history.
Gallery/ pictures page
Pictures of the products or services you provide
Services
A list of the services you provide
Contact page
Contact information, times of business, telephone, fax, email and postal address or an online contact form.
You may need specific pages that directly relate to your business type. Whilst planning your site you should know whether you need a new page for a specific piece of information. It’s best not to include everything about your business on one page, clearly categorising and separating the information will make it easier for visitors to find the information they are looking for and also helps search engines find it..
The content of each page should be linked to the button text that takes you to the corresponding page. For instance, a link called ABOUT US, should lead the visitor to a page with information about your company. Information is everything! It’s the reason a visitor will visit your site, browse your site and eventually use your services. So make sure you include all the relevant information that they will need.
How many pictures will you want on each page, if any at all?
Will these pictures, when clicked on be linked to a larger image?
Do you need an online enquiry form? if so, will it be a simple one with name, telephone number, email address and enquiry, or something much more complex?
You may just want an email link for visitors to click on to email you.
How long have you been in business?
Where is your business based?
How does your business operate?
What are your services?
What area does your business cover, local, regional, national or global?
Are you a member of any organisations or federations etc, that relate to your business?
Include your postal address, email address, fax and telephone numbers for you contacts page.
The list could be endless but in the end it’s best to keep the information precise and relevant, remembering that not many people will not bother to read pages and pages of information.
The design of your site should present a clear indication of your business type and impress on visitors the quality of service you offer. The navigation should be clear to see on all pages so visitors can find the information they are looking for.
Do you have a domain name, ie www.yourbusinessname.co.uk and space on the internet to store your web site in order for visitors to visit it?
A simple check can be made to see if the domain name you want is available, if so we can purchase it for you and provide hosting for your site.
If you already have a domain name and hosting, no problem, we can simply upload your web site to your own host, or even transfer your existing domain name to our server.
Once you have your rough plan feel free to contact us.

What I thought was going to be a a really time consuming nightmare was in fact a breeze thanks to plan B design. Kevin is always prompt to respond to all requests and updates (which are needed on a regular basis), helpful and has done a brilliant job for us with no fuss. He understands our requirements and was able to create exactly the web site we had in mind.
I couldn't recommend him highly enough.
